The warm weather is finally here, and that means it is time to start thinking of ways to use up all of your garden veggies. Here is one of my favorite Southern recipes that you can use to make dinner a little more delicious. Southern Green Beans Recipe is an easy and delicious vegetable to add to any meal.

Southern Green Beans Recipe

I’ve been meaning to share this recipe with you for some time now. It’s my go-to dish for when I need a quick and easy dinner. The recipe is so simple, yet so flavorful. You might even have all the ingredients in your pantry already. Green beans have been a favorite in my house for a long time, so I was very excited to find out that I can make them even better than I have been. I have a little hack for you, and it might just be the best thing you ever learned. This recipe is super simple and perfect for a weeknight. I usually cook mine in a pot of water and boil them for about 8-10 minutes. I then drain the beans, and add a little bit of butter, salt, and pepper and place them in a bowl.

Some people think that green beans are just a vegetable that is consumed at home. I beg to differ. When prepared correctly, green beans are the perfect complement to any Southern dish. You’ll want to make sure you have green beans that are fairly young and not too old. You’ll also want to make sure they are not cooked too long. If they are, they will be soggy. You’ll want to allow them to cook for about 15 – 20 minutes, or until they are tender.

Cooking Green Beans in the Oven with Bacon

Cooking green beans in the oven with bacon is easy and tasty. My family always loves the smell of green beans cooking in the oven. With just a few ingredients and a little bit of prep time, this is the perfect side dish for any meal.

I love green beans, but I don’t like to fry them in a pan. So, I figured out a way to fry them in the oven with bacon! For Cooking Green Beans in the Oven with Bacon, we’ll need 3 slices of bacon, 1/2 cup of water, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 1 pound of green beans, and 1 tablespoon of garlic powder.

First, cut the bacon into slices and place them on a baking sheet. Then, preheat your oven to 400°F. Next, pour the water and olive oil on the bacon to keep it from sticking to the pan. Next, place the green beans in a bowl, add in the garlic powder, and toss. Watch the video to guide you in making this recipe.

Green Beans and Prosciutto, a Great Appetizer

So, I’m trying to think of appetizers for a big family Thanksgiving gathering. And, I’m thinking that green beans and prosciutto is a perfect appetizer for the holidays. Green beans and prosciutto are a great appetizer combo. The salty prosciutto pairs well with the green beans, which are a great vegetable. The mixture of the two is simple and easy to make. Oftentimes, the prosciutto and beans are baked in the oven and then sometimes they are fried. Kudos to the chef who created this tasty appetizer.
