How To Store Tofu

If you’re a vegetarian, you may have heard of tofu and wondered how to store tofu. Tofu is a type of soybean curd that is popular in Asian cuisine. Tofu can be stored just like any other dairy product, in the fridge. Firm tofu should be stored in an airtight container to keep it fresh, but if you have a soft type of tofu, it is not necessary to store it in an airtight container.

Firm tofu is the most common kind you’ll find in the grocery store and it is great for grilling and stir-fries. Silken tofu is a softer and smoother kind that is used for desserts and dressings. To store tofu, first place the whole block of tofu on a plate or cutting board. When storing tofu in the fridge, cover the top of the block with some fresh water.
